Tony & Beryl Davis
Celebrate 50 Golden Years Together

Tony passed away on Friday, 10th February 2017

We've just arrived home from a special celebration today, Tony & Beryl's Golden Wedding surprise party. We were privileged to be initiated to attend the event organised by their daughter Jacky It was like a cast of thousands, as friends and family awaited the arrival of this special couple. Relatives came from as far away as Toronto, Canada, and friends from their folk music days travelled up from Clevedon near Bristol to celebrate the occasion. These are just a few of the musicians I can recall - Billy Edwards, John Blackman, Colin Smith, Ken Binns, Dave Lee,  Andrew MacKenzie, John Lawrence, Frank Robinson and Ron Minshall.

John has been quite ill and it must have been great to see him back with The Merseys last Monday

The mammoth task of organising the event fell to daughter Jacky

Daughter Sue spills the beans on 50 years of  married bliss

Brother-in-law Ron Minshall from Canada plays his own tribute
Ron was the Original trombone player with the Original Panama Jazz Band,

Beryl's cousin Russell, better know as the ex proprietor of Sam's Bar in Liverpool, sings Doctor Jazz.
Russell tells me he has now taken over a new pub with a large stage and hopes to re-introduce jazz soon.

Of course the event wouldn't have been complete without The Tony Davis Jazz Band on hand to provide the music.
