King Farouks Jazzman

Does any semi fossilised readers remember a guy by the name of Albert Poppelwell who ran a band which rejoiced in the name of "King Farouks Jazzman " They wore maroon coloured fezes ( A La Tommy Cooper) and performed at a Manchester pub - The Thatched House in the early / mid fifties.. A prominent member of the legal profession is Judge Poppelwell .... Shock -Horror!!!! could this be he ???
