July 2018 - Still going strong

Founded in 2014 for a series of gigs in West Cumbria, the Payday Loons are quickly establishing themselves, bringing a blend of frivolity, novelty songs and driving vintage jazz to the North West music scene.

Entirely acoustic the band is popular for outdoor events, intimate venues and anywhere that requires some colourful musical antics, toe tapping rhythms or floor filling refrains. ” The Loons” are extremely versatile and can be tailored to suit your requirements.

A six-piece line up of experienced musicians comprising trumpet, reeds, trombone, tuba, banjo and washboard, combine to create an authentic vintage sound. Specialising in the fun songs of Spike Jones, the purity of early jazz masters such as Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke and Fats Waller, right up to the whacky world of Clinton Ford, the focus is on entertainment.

They may be Loons by name but they take their music very seriously, always providing the most professional and polished performances, be that at a corporate product launch, a jazz club or private party.
