Peter Ward RIP
It's with great sadness that I announce the passing of my Dad, trombonist Peter Ward, on Friday, 22nd July, age 88. Peter began his playing career with the Silver Rhythm Band - a party band that played regularly at Urmston Baths. He loved Jazz and joined the Johnny Tippet Jazz Band in the 1950's. He then played with the Chicago Teddy Bears for many years as well as depping with bands including the Deep Sea City jazz band. Peter's funeral will take place at the Cyprus Chapel at Stockport Crematorium on 17th August at 12pm. 03/08/33 - Sad
to hear the news about Pete. I succeeded him with the Teddy
Bears and we have remained good friends ever since. He was a
lovely man and a fine trombone player. Condolences to his
Family. R.I.P Pete.
