I'm gutted !  Gerry was a joy to have playing for Dave Wellock and me, when we ran our Heysham Heritage Hall series of jazz evenings in Heysham Village and the Golf Club.  A cheeky chappie who will be missed enormously.

Gerry Clayton, our bass player, was an excellent musician, with experience of many different genres of music. His typical 'Scouse' sense of humour went down well with audiences, as well as with the band. As Gerry wished, he was able to remain at home, where Margaret looked after him so well, and where he passed away peacefully. Gerry will be remembered for his friendship and musicianship by many musicians and audiences throughout the north west. No funeral details yet, because of delays over the Easter period, but more information when things are confirmed.

RIP Gerry

So sorry to hear about Gerry passing. I was in a group called The Reece Allen Five back in 1959. Only got back in touch with Gerry a couple of years ago and his memory of those days was excellent.

RIP Gerry

Gerry entered my life relatively recently, but very quickly became a fixture as a musician and friend.   When you saw that old Volvo wagon roll up at a gig - always professionally early - you knew that the bass duty was in the best of hands, and a few laughs were also guaranteed.   R.I.P Gerry - you'll be missed. -
