So sorry to hear of Tony Dunleavy's death. I think I first met him in the early 1970s - possibly depping with Lymm's Original Dam Jazz Band. Since then our paths have crossed intermittently with scratch bands or one or both of us depping.

He was a very competent and adaptable trombonist, but his mischievous sense of humour greatly enlivened any session he played on. If my memory is correct, Tony helped me initially get into Band-in-a-Box on my computer, visiting me in Bolton (John Birchall, also deceased, helped me with updates).

Condolences to Maureen and the family. I'm sure that he must have given as much pleasure to them as he did to fellow musicians.

Harmoniously,

John Muskett

Really very sorry to hear that Tony Dunleavy has gone on ahead.  A genuinely nice man and a wonderful musician. Sad news indeed. -
