Dave Kendall
Dave has been very active on the jazz scene in Yorkshire since being a teenager. He is very highly thought of - particularly in the Bradford/Leeds conurbations. Unusually, he is equally at home playing his trumpet in bands with styles as different as New Orleans, Dixieland, Mainstream and Be-bop. Yet, at the same time, he has no special leanings to any of these. In his younger days he gained deserved recognition for his playing with the Yorkshire Jazz Band. Currently , he enjoys playing with a number of bands, his all-round ability ensuring that he is in great demand! Interestingly, one of his favourite trumpet players is Miles Davis. After hearing him when “depping” with us at the Brockhall Village’s Belfry Mansions his reputation as one of the finest trumpet players in Yorkshire was more than confirmed! The Pendle Jazzmen warmly welcomed him to the Holden Arms. - Colin Mason
