07/11/24 - Roy Cansdale, a fine bass player and guitarist, well known in the NW and other parts of England where he has resided, has just died at the age of 80. He will be remembered not just as a musician but also as a promoter - he ran the now defunct Kendal Jazz Club for many years, and was an interesting, warm and kind man. He will not be forgotten. There are no funeral details available yet. - Bruce Carnaffin

10/11/24 - Very sad news abut Roy. I played with him many times. Great bass player. He really listened to the front line and was so sympathetic to what was going on.  Very laid back and and a lovely man. Rest in peace Roy - Mike Lovell
