Brian Priestley RIP Dear Friends,
We’re still
processing the loss of my dear Dad Brian Priestley. Thank
you to those that have sent lovely messages and shared
memories you had with him. It’s comforting to know that he
was well loved by family and friends. We’ve actually
enjoyed going through his photos and belongings. They’re a
great representation of a long and happy life lived to the
full.
Many of you may know
that Dad wasn’t a religious man and so he opted for a Pure
Cremation instead of a traditional funeral. He spoke openly
about his wishes many times and said that instead of a
funeral service, he’d like us to gather family and friends
for an afternoon of good food, drink and of course jazz
music!
Therefore, we have
arranged a Memorial Gathering in Dad’s honour on Saturday,
15th March, 2-4pm, at High Lane Conservative Club. We hope
as many of you as possible can join us to help to celebrate
his life and make it as happy an occasion as possible. No
need to wear black and all jazz umbrellas are welcome!
For those that
aren’t familiar, the venue address is: High Lane
Conservative Club, 23 Buxton Rd, High Lane, Stockport SK6
8DR.
We have a Condolence
Book and we’d love everyone to fill it with photos, memories
or just anything you want to say. You are welcome to e-mail
contributions to me, or else write something on the day if
you will be attending in person.
Please let me know by
e-mail to
ang.benson@hotmail.co.uk if
you plan to attend the Memorial Gathering, just so we have a
rough ideal of numbers for the caterers.
Please share this
invitation to as many of Dad’s friends as possible, as I
only have contact details for a few.
We hope to see you
all soon,
Angela & Ben, Phil &
Katie
