Rabbit Records & the
The National Jazz Archive holds the UKís finest collection of written, printed and visual material on jazz, blues and related music, from the 1920s to the present day. Founded in 1988 by trumpeter Digby Fairweather, the Archiveís vision is to ensure that the rich tangible cultural heritage of jazz is safeguarded for future generations of enthusiasts, professionals and researchers. The National Jazz Archive is based in the Essex County Library, Loughton Essex.
As a charity, the
Archive is always seeking means of raising funds to enable to continue itís work
ensuring that the wealth of books, magazines, photographs and musicianís
archives are available to academics, researchers and regular jazz fans now and
in the future. In particular, the Archiveís web site is universally accessable -
without charge. One means of raising funds is arranging for jazz fans and their
families to dispose of precious vinyl and CD collections avoiding the local
charity shops or even the dreaded skip!
Over the years they have built up an extensive customer base across Europe, North America and Asia, including newer markets such as Russia and China. So, if you decide to donate or sell your collection it will be distributed widely to music lovers internationally who will experience the same enjoyment and love of the music as you.
If you wish to donate your collection to the National Jazz Archive then Rabbit Records can facilitate the sale, with a proportion of the proceeds passed on to benefit the work and continued development of the Archive.
Alternatively, Rabbit Records will purchase collections directly from the seller and then independently make a donation to the Archive to acknowledge the initial referral, so the Archive still benefits.
